Mr. Ben Gorton, MAPS

Child & Adolescent Psychologist


Ben Gorton has 8 years experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across both the private practice and child protection sectors. Ben holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours from the University of New England and is soon to be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). He is currently completing his provisional psychologist internship. His experience spans a range of clinical settings, where he has worked closely with young people and adults facing challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral difficulties, and trauma. 


Ben’s therapeutic approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He has extensive experience in diagnostic assessments for Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). To assist young people and families to understand and manage diagnoses, Ben enjoys providing clear, actionable insights. Ben is committed to ensuring children, adolescents and families that he works with receive personalised care that fosters emotional growth, resilience, and overall well-being. As well as clinical work, Ben has an interest in early intervention and preventative mental health strategies, addressing problems before they escalate for young people.
