At Oracle Psychology in Newcastle, fees vary depending on the type of service being offered and are subject to change.
Therapy/Treatment Sessions
Treatment sessions focus on addressing identified concerns through direct work with the client. Psychologists help develop strategies that clients can apply outside the session. These fees apply to private and Medicare treatment sessions.
Assessment Sessions
Assessments are designed to identify underlying difficulties, provide diagnoses, and clarify functioning. Most assessments consist of 4-5 sessions and include a comprehensive psychological report compiled at no additional cost upon completion. These reports contain detailed recommendations to support the client. Assessment fees reflect the costs of assessment tools, collating results, and writing the report. Reports are typically available 6 weeks after all collateral information, such as questionnaires, is returned.

In complex cases, including court-related work, Oracle Psychology requires explicit written agreement before services commence. Fees for additional casework are aligned with the APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees at $311.00 per hour (excluding GST). Any travel time, attendance at court or other legally required activity will be billed in accordance with the corresponding APS National Schedule of Recommended Fees.
For Expert Witness services, external case management through Unisearch may be required, with rates negotiated upfront. Third-party services are similarly quoted to ensure transparency.
Unless otherwise explicitly requested and expressly agreed to by Oracle Psychology in writing prior to commencement, our role is therapeutic in nature and is not court or forensic-related. As such, our services and assessments are not sufficient to provide opinions including but not limited to custody, litigation matters, potential psychological damage, changeover arrangements, visitations, contact or supervision arrangements. More comprehensive and independent assessments would be required to address such matters. Therefore, we will not be able to provide any Expert Witness opinion or testimony unless otherwise explicitly requested and expressly agreed to by Oracle Psychology in writing prior to commencement.
